When I Came as a Governor, our IGR was Below N500M; Today, It's Very Close to N3 Billion—Uzodinma

The current governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has expressed contentment with his administration and shed light on his decision to pursue a second term. He disclosed that upon assuming office, the state internally generated revenue was N500 million, a figure he has elevated to nearly 3 billion naira.

In an interview with Channels Television, Gov. Uzodinma highlighted the revival of key industries such as the Avutu poultry farm and Imo standard tools. Additionally, he outlined plans to rejuvenate the Avutu poultry sector.

He remarked, "When I came into Imo State as governor in January 2020, we started with education; we had only one Imo State University; now I'm the only state that is operating three universities: one polytechnic and one college of education. Five tertiary institutions. When I came here as governor, our internally generated revenue was below N500 million; today, it's very close to N3 billion. When I came here as governor, most of the industries were moribund. Not only have I recovered Adapalm and Imo standard tools, but I'm also trying to recover Avutu poultry. I've created opportunities."
